A year for our Scholars
Four-year-olds have important work to do: ask big questions, tell wonderful stories, solve tricky problems and make friends along the way. Our four-year-old classroom has been called Scholars, and we want those adventures to have purpose without taking the fun out of learning.
Ready to read, count and discover
Letters begin to mean something when they help tell a story. Numbers become exciting when we use them to compare, count and build. Art, play, books, patterns and hands-on investigations invite children to practice these ideas in ways they can understand.
Confidence beyond the classroom table
Learning to use scissors, put on a jacket, organize belongings or try again after a mistake builds more than a new skill. It builds the confidence to tackle the next challenge. Movement and creative play are important parts of that growth.
Friends are teachers, too
Four-year-olds are learning to share ideas, listen to one another and solve problems together. We make room for cooperation, imagination and the kind of friendships that help children look forward to coming to school.
Two ways to prepare for kindergarten
New Odyssey has described both a private four-year-old preschool option and Georgia’s state-funded Pre-K. These are different programs. We’re happy to help families understand the current options, eligibility and schedules at their campus.
